A White Christmas!

After the craziness of the last minute holiday photo sessions had ended the festivities began... It was an extra special Christmas season this year because my brother came back from Argentina, just in time for my college graduation. Here are some pictures of Graduation, our family ski trip to Colorado and the white Christmas we returned to in Georgia...

Gregory and Katie Birge

Pin It I spent several of my childhood years living in Marietta, Georgia. While living there, one of the families I developed a special friendship with was the Birge's. This week while making a catering run to Atlanta I had the opportunity to photograph Katie and Gregory. What fun it was to spend time with these photogenic siblings and good friends of mine!

Life as a Caterer!

"Why don't you become a chef? You're so good at cooking!" This is a something I have heard all my life...I must admit I have tossed the idea around. Well, these last couple weeks I have been given the opportunity to see what that life would be like.
I'll be heading to Idaho, June 11, to work at Camp Mivoden as their photographer for the rest of the summer. But I have several weeks free before. Rather than sit around home bored till then, I decided to take on the job as caterer.

3 days, 13 dessert trays, 612 treats= Week 1 done!
Next up 12 (15-25 people) full catered lunches!

Kelsi Williams

I spent this past Tuesday evening at my alma mater taking pictures of Kelsi Leigh Williams. It was a delight to spend time photographing a kindred spirit. In the fall Kelsi will be attending Southern Adventist University, were I will be finishing my degree. I look forward to a friendship whose roots came from this photo session.

Christina McNeilus' Senior Portraits!

This was one of those photoshoots where everything went just right; fun locations, perfect lighting and a gorgeous model. Before I even sat down to edit them I knew I had several that will be some of my all time favorites pictures, and I was right.
Christina and I met when we were little girls one summer at family camp. Over the years we have bumped into each other and thankfully both decided to go to the same college. I have so enjoyed the past years creating new memories with her. Here are two of my favorites that one day when I have my own studio, they will be gracing its walls.

Jeremy & Natasha's Engagement Session

Pin It My dear friend Natasha is getting married! So of course we had to do engagement pictures! We made an afternoon of it! One of our friends Tiffany came along and we spent seriously hours driving around and taking pictures at different locations! Jeremy was such a good sport and will admit that it wasn't torturous like he had feared it would be. :) Congrats Jeremy and Natasha!

Chelsey and I spent this past Sunday afternoon taking pictures for her senior violin recital poster. What fun it was to have my own private concert as I snapped pictures of her playing! Here are a few from that day. SAU students be on the look out around campus for more photos to make their appearance on her concert announcement!

Brian & Holly Engagement Session

I love reconnecting with people from my childhood! Especially, when photography brings us together. Recently when looking for a wedding photographer Holly Huey, a friend from Elementary school, stumbled across Caressa Rogers Photography Facebook page and contacted me about being her photographer. This afternoon I spent reconnecting with Holly and getting to know her fiance, Brian, during their engagement session. Check back in a couple weeks for pictures from their special day!

Baylie & Ryan's Engagement Session!

Just a couple weeks ago Ryan proposed to Baylie at Parksville Beach on the Ocoee River. Afterwards they met up with friends at Yellow Deli to celebrate. Yellow Deli is located in an urban area of Chattanooga and since Yellow Deli was part of their special day it seemed like a perfect area for their engagement session.
This past fall I had met Baylie though some mutual friends, I knew that she was dating a guy named Ryan. However, it was only recently that I found out that her Ryan was a distant cousin of mine. What a fun surprise! I so enjoyed spending the evening with them. They are obviously crazy about each other and capturing this was such an easy job! Congratulations Baylie and Ryan! I'm excited to have another cousin, Baylie!

Kelly Moore Camera Bag!

I bought my first SLR camera in August 2008. At that point I began looking for a stylish camera bag. After much searching I gave up and settled with just a traditional camera bag. It wasn't until just recently when a fellow photography, Melissa Jill, posted on her site that she had just purchased exactly the bag I had been dreaming of! Kelly Moore came up with this amazing bag which accommodates your camera and lenses, while still being stylish! You can guess what I'll be doing in the next couple days!

A New Life

At the onset of the summer of 2009 my life was neatly planned out. I had spent a semester in Argentina, which made it necessary for me to take summer classes in order to graduate on track in May of 2010. The plan was going along just fine until August when I began class number 6 of the summer. My advisor had signed me up for the wrong class!!! The class I needed wasn't offered-so discouraging. Now, a semester after that horrible discovery, I realize that God had it all planned. During the next few months after that disappointing day my life as a photographer took off. If you would have told me last summer that I'd have a successful little photography business and that the extra semester required to graduate would be filled with photography classes I would not have believed you. God knew I would be coming into a new passion called photography and He provided the means and the time to immerse myself in it.
One part of this new life is the photography lighting class I'm taking. Throughout the coming months I'll share with you some pics from the assignments. Here are just a few from the most recent one. A special thanks to Brittney MClannahan for modeling!

Snow and a New Lens!!!

My new 50 mm lens made its debut today-a hands down favorite! With snow falling rapidly and covering the ground Leslie Erhard and I braved the elements for a photo shoot adventure! Here in Tennessee it seems like we are having a snow fall every couple weeks. I love it! So untraditional for the south, making it a truly unique photographic opportunity.

Combining Some of the Best Things in Life!

My Aunt Becky sent me to Beatrice Peltre's food photography site, telling me, "Talk about combining some of the best things in life!" Beatrice's photos capture the unique presentation of her food. I think I might have to take a shot at food photography now! Thanks Aunt Becky for sending some inspiration my way!
